Badass Beer has teamed up with Michigan International Speedway for some serious biking for a cause. To honor Armed Forces Day on Saturday, May 19, motorcycles of all makes and models are invited to attend the Great Lakes Wine and Beer Festival and take part in a run around the 14 degree banked turns of MIS. The entry fee not only gets you into MIS and buys you laps around the highbanks, participants also get to pocket food/drink tokens for the event. Live entertainment, great food, beer and wine as well as a bike blessing prior to the run on the track… What more could you ask from a Saturday in Michigan’s Irish Hills.

Armed Forces day will be celebrated with a flag retirement ceremony honoring our troops. See the flyer for registration details and special rates at area hotels. Climb on. Fire up. Head out. This is a run to honor those who prove that our colors never do! It doesn’t get more Badass than that!

Our February Badasses of the Month were one Trans-Am and Sally Fields away from pulling off a bonafide Smokey and the Bandit run. What started as a quest for their first-ever taste of Badass ended up with Bruce Gagliardi and Joe Amoroso heading West Bound and Up and putting 1,500 miles on a rented Suburban.

“I’m a huge Kid Rock fan and he’s always talked about making his own beer,” said Bruce with a cold bottle in his hand. “I’ve been Googling it… looking for it. Finally, on the Born Free documentary, I saw that they were drinking it!

“I’d never tried it, but I knew that if it was his–I had to have it.”

Recruiting longtime friend and frequent partner in crime, Joe (“We’ve got a habit of going on trips that our wives wouldn’t want to go on.”), the duo pulled out of Providence, Rhode Island and made a beeline for Clarkston, Michigan.

“We got here Thursday night at 9:45PM,” said Bruce. “We came to the (Union) Woodshop at 9:50PM to get our first Badass.” Let’s just say that the Badass didn’t disappoint.

Instant fans, the two also initiated an appreciation for Jim Beam’s Devil’s Cut. The lifelong Jack drinkers had made a pilgrimage to Jack Daniels’ Lynchburg, Tennessee, distillery on a previous boondoggle.

“We feel like we’re cheating on Jack,” said Bruce of his first encounter with Jim Beam’s Devil’s Cut, “but it’s so damned good.”

The two spent Friday in Webberville, Michigan, at the Michigan Brewing Company. When it was all said and done, they’d loaded up the Suburban with enough Badass to make the Snowman proud.

“It was a good few days out of work,” said Joe on Sunday night.

What do you get when you’re game to load up and head out 720 miles to have try a beer you’ve never had? What do you get when you make it back home without Buford T. bringing you in? You get your first taste of Badass: and you get the official title of Badass of the Month.

The old beer business expression “on premise accounts drive off premise sales” is alive and well in Paw Paw, MI! Serviced by Badass distributor Imperial Beverage out of Kalamazoo, Roadhouse Grill and Oasis Party Store are the top Badass Beer accounts in Imperial’s market! Located within 3 miles of each other, Roadhouse’s Rich Conway and Oasis’s Mike Larson are old school friends that both got behind the Badass brand. The Roadhouse is known for having some of the finest “bike nights” in all of SW MI. “Badass Bike Nights” are extremely popular with 1 dollar Badass draft specials and the Roadhouse’s great pulled pork sandwich on the outdoor patio, stage and dance floor. On your way home, you’ll never find an empty shelf of Badass at the Oasis. They sell more cases than any other party store in the area but have committed to keeping a high level of inventory for the loyal Badass following they have developed. In other words…they keep the Imperial drivers busy!

We’d like to thank Roadhouse and Oasis Party Store for their continued support of Badass American Lager and encourage you to pick some up when you are in the Paw Paw area!
